This story is the epitome of what our country was built on "People Helping People" United States Marshal Clay Owen comes to Tampa, Florida in 1898 to find a sixteen-year-old boy who ran away from his home in Oklahoma Territory to join Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders and fight in the Spanish American War. The American troops were station in Tampa in tents between Ybor City to Port Tampa and shipped out to Cuba from Port Tampa. They traveled on the Henry B. Plant Railroad System to Tampa and the military officers lived in the Henry B. Plant Hotel. ( Today, the hotel is still there and is located on the University of Tampa Campus and is called the Henry B. Plant Museum.) The story moves back and forth between Florida and Oklahoma and tell the story of two U.S. Marshal who have been terrorizing the people of the Indian Territory. This book continues with the story of Wade Parker's Indian wife Little Dove (Dovey), whose white mother was captured by an Apache Indian and her son, Dakota, who is of mixed-blood (read Finding Dakota). It tells the heart warming story of two white wolves that had migrated from the plains of Kansas only to be caught by traps set by man, leaving behind two pups that are raised by Dakota and his family. Blue Mountain is entertaining adventure for the whole family.
